Yunnan is renowned for producing some of the world's best Black tea and the exotic Yunnan Gold Hong Cha is certainly one of the most famous. This is our top selling Black teas and one we will gladly introduce to any Black tea lovers.

Other names:

Golden Yunnan, Dian Hong

Taste:

Full-bodied and rich with a hint of natural sweet malty flavor.

Appearance:

Beautiful small tightly rolled khaki-colored tea leaves.

Origin:

Feng Qing, Yunnan Province, China

Harvest Period:

Spring 2015

Brewing Guide

1. Rinse tea cup and teapot with hot water.

2. Use about 3 grams of tea leaves (1-2 teaspoons) for every 150ml of water. Steep tea leaves in hot water at 95°c (203°F) for 1 minute for the first and second brewing.

3. Gradually increase steeping time and temperature for subsequent brewing.

* We suggest you can use purple clay or porcelain tea ware. If you like milk with your tea, add 10 ml to 15ml of sweetened/plain dairy milk and stir.

This is a mild Yunnan black with its signature malty aroma and flavor, with solid body from tannin, and plesant acidity from high quality fresh black tea. However, it lacks spiciness and lingering aftertaste I want from Yunnan tea! If you want a Chinese version of good Assam, this may not be far from what you want, but it is not spicy, not peppery, and it's not "Yunnan" in my book.

Dont generally drink black teas so my palate with respect to them is certainly not refined. I found the Yunnan Gold to have a nice clean taste with the rich flavors of a black tea. Multiple infusions are fine. This would be a good choice for a morning tea with a bit of a wake me up result. Looking forward to trying more teas from ChineseTeaArt.Com

Very similar to Teavanas Assam Gold Rain Black Tea but much better tasting with a slightly mellower flavor. I prefer the Bi Luo Chun Hong Cha which is slightly less expensive but this is a great black tea to start out with as it isnt too strong. Usually get about 3-4 steeps out of it before it starts to lose its flavor.

This is my favorite black tea and the best yunnan gold i have yet found anywhere. Lasts for two brewings and has become an every day favorite. When I run out i cant find anything that even comes close to the taste. Ill be buying in bulk so that doesnt happen!

Beautiful leaf, very aromatic, with hints of red wine and black pepper. Very rich mouthfeel, good strength, typical Yunnan pepper overtones, some hints of tobacco on the finish. I brew English style, 3 minutes in 212 degree filtered water, no sugar or cream. This is an excellent everyday breakfast Yunnan

There are lots of other teas that are more expensive or praised by others as being the best, but over my eight decades of life none please the taste more consistently than Yunnan Gold tea. Each spring with the new crop I always buy a years supply to insure that I will never have to drink any other tea for one more year. Some praise for ChineseTeaArt.com is also due for the high quality of service and fast overseas shipment that they offer.
