There's an old Chinese saying "famous mountains produce famous tea". Huang Shan is one of China's famous mountain for producing great Green teas and their Mao Feng is certainly one of the best. This tea is one of China's Ten Famous tea. Our Huang Shan Mao Feng comes from the tea company owned by Mr. Xie Yi Ping, a descendant of the original creator of this tea (Mr. Xie Zheng An). It is made using the traditional processing method invented in the late Qing Dynasty during the reign of Guangxu Emperor and passed down from six generations ago.

Certified China Organic Product.

Other names:

Yellow Mountain's Fur Peak

Taste:

The special processing technique produces a special tea that is strong, yet very refreshing. The aroma is a pleasant reminiscence of fresh Orchid bloom. Every sip of Huang Shan Mao Feng tea promises a sweet and refreshing memory.

Appearance:

Emerald-green young and tender tea leaves (mixture of one bud one leaf and one bud two leaves).

Origin:

Fu Xi, An Hui Province, China

Harvest Period:

Spring 2015 (Ming Qian Cha)

Brewing Guide

1. Rinse tea cup and teapot with hot water.

2. Use about 3 grams of tea leaves (1-2 teaspoons) for every 150ml of water. Steep tea leaves in hot water at 75°c (158°F) to 85°c (176°F) for 1 minute for the first and second brewing.

3. Gradually increase steeping time and temperature for subsequent brewing.

* We recommend using glass-based or porcelain tea ware.

It took me a while to appreciate this one, but now it is one of my favorite teas. It has a really nice subtle sweet floral taste.

I tried several of your green teas and this one is my favorite. It has a nice mouth-feel and aromatic enough to appreciate. I would definitely recommend.

I found this tea very weak at the begginning following the brewing instructions provided. But I found that this 2.011 harvest is like a white tea more than a green one. So I brew it with boling water for three minutes and I like quite a lot the result (no bitterness at all) Also you need a good volum of tea for good results. The tea is dense and subtle, but good

Although a good green, I was not as impressed with this Mao Feng as I have been with others. It's a bit pricey. Probably will not order again.

uring brewing the leaves immediately sink to the bottom of the cup which is usually an indication that it is an old crop of tea which has not been stored properly. As the harvest period was the Spring of 2011, this must just be characteristic of this tea. I have tasted better tea from An Hui Province, so this is just a mediocre tea.

Although good taste, it's much lighter that I would like or have enjoyed compared to previous year.

Great tasting green tea! Wonderful subtle floral orchid fragrance before and after the first drops hit the dry leaves in the gaiwan. The first minute infusion is refreshing and very sweet. The second minute infusion rounds out and mellows. Subsequent 3rd and 4th infusions are satisfying too. Overall this HSMF is a very sweet and fragrant green tea. The fragrance, which is unusual for green teas, is very understated.

If you get this tea, you won't be disappointed. I personally found it a little different at first, not my cup of tea, but it slowly grew on me and now I can't get enough of it.

Very mild delicate tea, good flavour. Reminds me a little of lu an gua pian . Although not quite as floral and multi-faceted. Nice green though no complaints, it is a delicate green though.

I am new to this real tea thing, but I must say I am enjoying this Green Tea. It has a nice flavor and is very smooth.
